GRNC staff, board and volunteers with Tommy Shaw from Styx

Many thanks to the classic rock band Styx and their nonprofit organization, Rock to the Rescue, for hosting a great fundraiser for Girls Rock NC at their concert in Fayetteville! Our staff, board, and volunteers gathered at the concert to raffle off an autographed guitar signed by Styx with the proceeds benefiting our 2013 Rock Camp for Girls. We had a blast hanging out with the band and their very generous fans! Thanks to everyone who donated!

This fabulous gift will allow us to send 13 girls to camp on full scholarship in 2013!

Purrrlesque is a vaudeville and burlesque performance group based in North Carolina. This month they invited Girls Rock NC to be the beneficiary of their giant charity performance at the Triad Stage in Greensboro. The event theme was “Beautifully Empowered” and featured over 60 performers from across the country.

Girls Rock NC is thrilled to have been invited to participate in this event, which focused on body acceptance, self esteem, and empowerment. Thank you, Purrrlesque, for inviting us to participate and for providing us with such incredible funding for our 2013 Camper Scholarship Fund!
