This year we’ll hold five sessions of camp. They will take place in Chapel Hill, NC at Woods Charter School, in Durham, NC at Infuzion and in Raleigh at Community Music School. All camps will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with early drop off and late pick up options available from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm for a small fee.

Raleigh Camp @ Community Music School:
June 25-29, 2012 ages 7-16

Chapel Hill Camp @ Woods Charter School:
+ July 16-20, 2012 ages 7-10
+ July 23-27, 2012 ages 11-16

Durham Camp @ Infuzion:
+ July 16-20, 2012 ages 7-10
+ July 23-27, 2012 ages 11-16

If applying after March 31, please send application and $10 fee to the above address.

You should expect to hear whether you’ve been accepted within six weeks of receipt of your application. Please understand that we receive hundreds of applications a year, so we can’t accept every applicant. We try to accept girls on a first come- first served basis, with some reserved spots for girls from underserved communities, and girls who haven’t had the opportunity to experience our programs.

GRNC in The Great Human Race

Hey Girls Rock NC fans!

We’re participating in the Great Human Race! It’s a 5k race on March 24th put on by the Volunteer Center of Durham. People can sign up to run, walk or sponsor a participant and the proceeds go to support GRNC.

My friend Jessica Hopper wrote a great article for a great teen online magazine called Rookie: http://rookiemag.com/2011/12/in-the-basemen/

She also wrote the book, Girls Guide To Rocking, which I highly recommend. GRNC has used portions of this book in our teachings.

Girls Rock Afterschool Performance

November 15th Girls Rock NC presents: After School Rock with the Nocturnals, Crazy Velvet Downpour and Undecided! At the Pinhook in Durham, 7pm.

All three bands come from the Girls Rock NC After school Program. Once a week girls met to write music, learn life skills and empower each other to achieve awesomeness.

Nov 15th they will share their songs at 7pm at the Pinhook – 117 Main Street, Durham, NC

$5 at the door.

Also a Rockin’ Raffle will be going on with cool stuff from Local Stores and Services. Don’t miss it!
